Description
Rich in 4,000 pieces, the jewelry collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs is unique in the French national collections by the variety of eras it covers: religious jewelery of the Middle Ages to contemporary creations, through the bodice ornaments of the eighteenth century , Empire jewelry or Art Nouveau brooches.
Over time, it reflects the wide variety of models, themes and techniques of jewelers. Offered to the museum, worn or transmitted as a heritage, these jewels have in themselves a story, testimonies of passionate amateurs or those who wanted to transmit a family attachment. This album presents the major pieces of the collection.
