Verreries des Lumières offers you some glasses and goblets from the history of the glass industry of the Middle Ages in Northern Europe

In the 14th century, glass art flourished in the North of the Alps: France, the Netherlands, Germany (especially in the valleys of the Meuse and the Rhine), in Bohemia. 'Forest glassworks' were active in the bushy forests of these regions where fuel (wood for ovens) and plants were found, such as ferns whose potash-rich ash was an excellent flux. Their 'fern glass' products were green or yellow dishes as well as blown glasses. The most common types were glasses decorated with applied glassy drops (Nuppenbecher in German) and glasses decorated with vertical ribs or applied droplet glasses (Keulenglas).
