/ Walk and gait. A history of footwear
The exhibition "Walk and gait. A history of footwear "questions the status of this essential everyday accessory by visiting different ways of walking, from the Middle Ages to the present day, both in the West and in non-European cultures. How do women, men, and children walk through time, cultures, and social groups? Nearly 500 works: shoes, paintings, photographs, works of art, films and commercials, from French and foreign public and private collections, offer an unusual reading of a piece of clothing that is sometimes innocuous and often extraordinary.
