How did I get there and what is my approach
I fell in the pen late on almost by chance. After a long career as an actress, director, screenwriter, I went back to the source, that of my first love: couture, fabrics, fashion.
I started wanting to accessorize one of my achievements, a straw skirt ... very stiff, the kind of skirt that makes you stay up all night ... I made a first necklace inspired by what I I could see in museums. And I had a click. The art of the feather opened up a whole world to me in the heart of the primary forest, at a time when Aboriginal people were still weaving spiritual bonds with their natural environment.
I had to persevere. I had to deal with this particularly difficult material to discipline. By its rebellious nature, the pen taught me to accept the unexpected instead of trying to defeat it. I started to relativize, to simplify. My relationship to fashion has changed, my wardrobe has got rid of the superfluous. Because to highlight my creations, the garment must fade, it becomes support, backdrop. It may be considered a limit, but for me it was a new beginning, a new relationship to seduction.
This importance given to the accessory led me to a more general reflection on the jewel, its relationship to the body, the seduction and above all, it pushed me to wonder about the best way to show it. A desire for scenography is ramped up in which the augmented body of the jewel materializes in different forms in space. These little productions have become an important part of my work today.
