Petites images, Roman Cieslewicz

This book reproduces 150 scenes of vignettes arranged in collages by Roman Cieslewicz in the early 1990s and brought together under the title Petites Images. These images of very different sources - newspaper extracts, small ads, envelopes, logos, but also previous works of the artist - saturate the board; often, the obsessive repetition of the same motif seems to stutter the board or return as a leitmotif on the following.
"The photomontages: this work of hygiene is vital for me.It is usually out of order, they bounce sooner or later in my printed achievements." Confided the artist, who has arranged throughout his life images, and this set , gathered during the last years of his life, remained unpublished.
