Based on the rich collections of the Rixheim Wallpaper Museum, this book aims to bring back to life the countless patterns that transformed the lives of our ancestors, and to try to give them a new meaning. The paper pattern is a world unto itself: manufacturers have printed thousands of them from the 1770s to the present day, in order to transform the bare wall at minimal cost and give it a meaning in line with individual desires.
