Description
What do the objects around us say about us? The exhibition is an original reflection on how objects reflect lifestyles and how they have changed over the centuries. It's an intrusive exhibition by nature, as it deciphers bedrooms, screens, dressing tables, pierced chairs and even sex toys! Sleep, sexuality, grooming and the way we live together are deciphered through the ages, with great painters such as Édouard Vuillard and Edgar Degas, or more recently David Hockney and Nan Goldin, and with great designers such as the Bouroullec brothers, Gaetano Pesce, Superstudio and Archizoom. These days, social networks are everywhere, and the thieves of privacy are using all these frightening techniques.
Beaux Arts Éditions tells the story of how intimacy is tracked down, facilitating the work of sociologists who scrutinise these images from multiple sources.
Exhibition at MAD,
from 15 October 2024 to 30 March 2025
