Kasimir Malevich is an abstract painter born in 1868 who lived in Russia all his life. His best-known painting is a black square on a white background. In this painting he shows figures simply formed from spots of color. Their faces are cut in two, they have no eyes or mouth to show that they are not thinking. This painting is a little sad but joyful in the colors.
