The Musée des Arts Décoratifs pays tribute to the work of Étienne Robial with a retrospective exhibition presented from November 10, 2022 to June 11, 2023. “Étienne + robial. graphic design & collection, from futuropolis to canal+” retraces the exceptional career of this prolific and eclectic creator through posters, drawings, videos, books, pieces of furniture. Graphic designer, publisher, artistic director, teacher, collector, Étienne Robial has marked the French audiovisual landscape over the past 50 years by inventing the concept of television packaging and by producing, in particular, those for Canal+ and M6. He participated in the recognition of author comics by founding the Futuropolis publishing house. He revisits and creates the models of several magazines such as Métal Hurlant, (To Follow), Télérama, Les Inrockuptibles and more recently, L'Équipe. The exhibition restores his graphic universe by creating a dialogue between his professional projects and pieces from his personal collection (books, works of art, lighting, unusual utensils, etc.), in a scenography designed by Kevin Lebouvier.
